September west coast weather. Are we screwed?

All Mexican coasts are crappily humid, September is still the rainy season in central and southern Mexico. It's humid all year long. I suggest you visiting the inland areas. Mexico City is a picture from July to September, rainy but cool, temperatures ranging from 55 to 70. Continental cities like Morelia or Gunajuato and Quertaro have good weather in this month, thing that I can't say all year long.
