Was the collapse of the Soviet Union a victory for socialism?

True socialism has never existed only dictatorships and forms of democratic socialism. Be sure to thank your anscestors for not settling on their own forms of govt and economic sytems so you can enjoy all the progress that lets you live a comfortable life. Your great great grandchildren might thank the people of this era for not accepting what forms of govt and econmic stystems we have today and leading the way for the next great thing. Rather than merely accepting that it could never get better and why look for any way of doing it better.
