Pinpoint Colorometer com6 port doesn't exist?

My Pinpoint colorometer wont connect to the computer via usb and when I run the program pinpoint 2010 it won't accept the colors after I press the button to test the next one like it used to and when I first pull up the customers name it pops up with an error of "com6 port doesn't exist" it didn't have this problem before what could I do to fix it?
